Parkinson's Lab
A Parkinson’s Disease (PD) research lab, outfitted with a driving simulator, virtual reality equipment and other cognitive testing equipment, can be found at the Brain and Mind Core Facility. The purpose of this reserach lab/area is to: assess participant performance during visuospatial tasks, assess cognition with a variety of neuropsychological tests, and to compare the metrics in participants with PD to healthy volunteers. By examining these data in conjunction with structural and functional neuroimaging techniques and pharmacological manipulations, this research aims to further our understanding of the relationship between physiology and cognition in PD so that better assessment and treatment methods can be developed.
