Gait Lab

You will find a gait lab in the Brain and Mind Core Facility, with a Zeno Sensory Walkway that measures a variety of gait patterns and characteristics. Research members use this Walkway to better understand how people walk, and why we move to music. Gait studies have sought to understand the effectiveness of gait therapies such as Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation (RAS) to improve gait or gait related aspects of movement especially those caused by neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease. The Walkway can also be used in combination with other equipment such as portable fNIRS/EEG and virtual reality.

If you are interested in accessing the resources in the Core Facility, please contact Derek Quinlan.
