My MA research project explores the trope of a woman who leaves her husband, or a ‘tecuna,’ as it is presented in Miguel Angel Asturias’ novel Hombres de Maíz (Men of Maize). I am interested in postcolonial studies, gender studies, and on diasporic and intersectional works of literature.

My MA Independent Research Project explores the psycholgical Father Wound in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and its affects on social relationships between parents and children. I am interested in 19th Century British Literature, including Gothic, Colonial/Postcolonial writings, Social Problem Novels, Industrurial Literature, etc. I am also intriguied by Literary Criticism and Theory, Utopian and Dystopian Literature, Medieval Literature, and J. R. R. Tolkein's fantasy writings.
