Call for Nominations – Senate Committees

The Senate Nominating Committee is currently accepting nominations from members of the University community for vacancies on the following Senate Committees:

1. Senate Review Board Academic (SRBA): Two (2) students: One (1) undergraduate and one (1) graduate, for the terms ending June 30, 2025. One (1) faculty member, term ending June 30, 2025.

  • Workload: Individual appeal meetings and hearings are arranged by the University Secretariat as required. The work of SRBA continues through the summer.

  • Time Commitment: Unfortunately, the Secretariat is unable to anticipate what a member’s time commitment might look like in any given year. However, members are asked for their availability when building panels for new appeals, providing the option to opt out if the member is busy with other obligations. Appeal meetings are typically one hour long. Oral hearings are typically scheduled for either one half day or one full day.

Deadline for nominations: Nominations should be submitted no later than 12:00 p.m. January 7, 2025.

2. Senate Committee on Academic Policy (Policy): One (1) faculty member, term from January 25, 2025, to July 28, 2025.

3. Selection/ Review Committee for the Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President (Indigenous Initiatives):

  • Three (3) faculty members, one of whom shall be a Dean.
  • One (1) undergraduate student.
  • One (1) graduate student.

Deadline for nominations: Nominations should be submitted no later than 12:00 p.m. January 7, 2025.

Nominations Process

To submit your nomination, please fill in our . The Senate Nominating Committee will consider all nominations it receives without regard to the source of the nomination.

You may also submit your nomination to senate@uwo.ca. Nominations must be accompanied by a paragraph of not more than 100 words to outlining the reasons for nomination and the candidate’s suitability for the position.
