About
Richard W. Hutchinson Geoscience Collaborative Suite Mission
The mission of the 深夜福利站 Richard W. Hutchinson Geoscience Collaborative Suite is to procure, display and preserve geological materials for the purpose of education, research, and outreach. We aim to inspire a fascination and wonder for rocks, minerals and our Earth through our displays and education and outreach events.
Richard W. Hutchinson Geoscience Collaborative Suite Goals
Our current goal of the Richard W. Hutchinson Geoscience Collaborative Suite is to provide ease of access for researchers and educators to our collections, the Suffel and Dana Collections. These collections respectively comprise a global suite of ore deposit specimens including rocks, minerals, polished sections and thin sections, and a suite of research quality mineral specimens from various localities worldwide. The Earth Sciences Department at 深夜福利站 has curated and maintained the collections since the 1940s, but the creation and implementation of the Richard W. Hutchinson Geoscience Collaborative Suite will allow greater access to specimens, enhanced organization, and public events that are currently not possible. Additionally, the implementation of a collections database will allow for researchers to search our collections and request samples to borrow.
The Richard W. Hutchinson Geoscience Collaborative Suite team is currently working on achieving these goals, and progress will be updated on our News page.
